Ireland all-rounder Curtis Campher made history on Thursday by becoming the first-ever player to take five wickets in five balls in all of men’s professional cricket. Campher achieved the feat while playing for Munster Reds against North-West Warriors in the Inter-Provincial T20 Trophy, finishing with figures of 5/16 in 2.3 overs. All five wickets came across Campher’s second and third overs, as the Warriors collapsed from 87/5 to 88 all out in their pursuit of 189. Jared Wilson was the first to fall, dismissed on the penultimate ball of the 12th over. He then trapped Graham Hume leg-before on the next delivery with a sharp inswinger.
Campher returned to bowl the 14th over on a hat-trick and struck immediately, removing Andy McBrine who mistimed a slog to deep midwicket. Robbie Millar was next, edging a delivery outside off-stump, followed by Josh Wilson, who was bowled, giving Campher a hat-trick and five wickets in five balls. Also See: Ind vs Eng Live Score
