"I agree with
Virender Sehwag and
Gautam Gambhir's suggestions and we will be banning Anuj for life," Sharma told TOI on Tuesday. Sharma also met the Lieutenant Governor (LG) Anil Baijal of Delhi on Tuesday and urged that the police should not limit its investigation to just these two boys. Anuj has been a given a day's remand while Naresh has been sent to judicial custody for two days.
"The angle of a larger conspiracy needs to be explored. There needs to be an extensive investigation in this matter. I have also decided that there will be probe into all the complaints regarding selectors getting calls to pick certain players. There have been several such complaints this year. The LG has assured me that he will extend his support in this matter," Sharma added.
Bhandari was brutally assaulted with iron rods and hockey sticks by Anuj on Monday after the selector had turned down Anuj's request to fit him into the Delhi U-23 team.
