MUMBAI: Dadar Union Sporting Club, a famed cricket club in Matunga that has produced legendary cricketers like Sunil Gavaskar and
Dilip Vengsarkar, won a local tournament after a long time when they clinched the Kale T20 Cup on Sunday, beating Young Comrade CC by 20 runs in the final.
Ironically former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar, who played for the club for 25 years, was the chief guest for the prize distribution ceremony of the tournament.
“I’m extremely pleased as Dadar Union has won a trophy after a long time. It’s been a major contributor to Mumbai cricket for many years, and I hope that Dadar Union continues to win major titles in future,” Vengsarkar said.
