From over the stumps, this one is bowled full and way outside off, goes the other way after pitching. Rachin Ravindra tries to reach for it, which makes him lose control of his shot and goes uppishly towards cover. Charith Asalanka stationed there puts in a dive towards his right and grabs it flat in the air with both his outstretched hands. Ravindra falls for a fantastic 79 off 63. New Zealand are 168/3!

This is the off-break, short and on middle and off, turns away. Mark Chapman backs away to go over covers but ends up hitting it much straighter due to the away spin. The ball flies straight into the hands of Nuwanidu Fernando (Sub) at long off who makes no mistake. Chapman walks back for a fine 62 off 52!

Maheesh Theekshana to Mark Chapman, A risky double! Shortish and around leg, Mark Chapman nudges it with soft hands towards deep square leg and turns around for the second. The fielder charges onto the ball quickly and fires in a throw right on top of the stumps. The keeper, Kusal Mendis collects and breaks the stumps in a flash. However, the replay shows that Chapman just manages to drag his bat inside the crease.

The platform is set for them and with the big hitters still to come, the Kiwis will be thinking of something around 300 here.
