Right then, four down and one to go in this series. Australia can no longer win it, but they have a chance to deny India a series victory. India, on the other hand, will be eager to finish the job and tick the box of a series win in Australia. The fifth and final T20I will be played at The Gabba in Brisbane on Saturday, 8th November, with the first ball at 1.45 pm IST (8.15 am GMT). Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav praises his batters, particularly Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma, for setting up the innings with a crucial start. He notes that despite dew affecting the later stages, the bowlers did an absolutely fantastic job, expressing happiness with their performance. Yadav ends on a high note, saying he feels blessed with the bowling options at his disposal and that everyone stepped up when it mattered.

Australia's captain, Mitchell Marsh says the total was probably par on that wicket and feels that they need a couple of partnerships. He acknowledges that India are a world-class team. Shares that in an ideal world, you want to be at full strength in every game. Marsh adds that he understands there’s a big series coming up and he loves giving players opportunities, as the more chances they get in high-pressure situations, the better it is for the team’s growth.

Axar Patel is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his superb all-round effort. He mentions that it was not an easy wicket to bat on. Emphasises his flexibility in batting, adjusting to the team's lineup rather than having a preferred position. Axar concludes that he bowled according to plan, which helped him pick up key wickets.

Earlier, after being put into bat, India never really got going as Australia kept pegging them back with timely strikes. Shubman Gill held firm, and during his stand with Suryakumar Yadav, there was a sense that at 121/2 in 14 overs, the partnership could click into a gear. However, Gill’s dismissal opened the door for Australia, who continued to pick up wickets at regular intervals. A late flourish from Axar Patel lifted India to 167. Mitchell Marsh was clever with his bowling rotations through the middle phase, and his bowlers responded well. Nathan Ellis was the standout performer, finishing with impressive figures of 3 for 21 from his four overs.

While Varun Chakaravarthy was uncharacteristically a bit short, Axar Patel held his own and went on to dismiss Josh Inglis. That wicket triggered a collapse as the home side lost 8 for 51 from there. Shivam Dube turned out to be the surprise package, removing Mitchell Marsh and Tim David, two batters who had looked particularly dangerous throughout the series. India’s bowlers then tightened their grip, with all six options chipping in with at least a wicket.

Matthew Short got off the blocks quickly and gave Australia a brisk start. He fell inside the Powerplay, and there wasn’t much to separate the two sides at that stage, with Australia 48/1 compared to India’s 49/0. The game was always going to hinge on how the Aussies handled India’s spin trio.  The hosts looked in a decent position at 68/1 in the ninth over, with the required run rate hovering around nine.

An inspiring bowling effort takes India to an unassailable lead in the series. A total of 167 was competitive, but to defend it and win by 48 runs is an outstanding performance from the bowlers. For Australia, it was a tale of batters getting starts but failing to kick on and make them count. There were no partnerships of substance for the Aussies, and they eventually fell well short of the target.

Given LBW! Marcus Stoinis has reviewed it. To be honest, this looks like a review more in hope than anything else. The Ball Tracking comes up as three reds and Stoinis will have to take the long walk back.
