... DAY 1, SESSION 3 ...
At the start of the second session, West Indies came out with an aggressive approach, finding the boundary with ease. Just when the partnership between Alick Athanaze and Kavem Hodge was beginning to flourish, Athanaze's wicket proved to be the turning point. After his dismissal, things quickly went from bad to worse as the team lost wickets in clusters. Alzarri Joseph attempted a counter-attacking approach but was soon dismissed, leading to West Indies losing 7 wickets for just 33 runs and being bundled out for 121 runs. With the ball in hand, things weren't much better for West Indies. The bowlers struggled to extract anything from the surface, compounded by a missed run-out chance and a dropped catch. Jayden Seales did manage to get them a wicket, pulling things back fractionally, but they will need much more to make a significant comeback in this game. With England trailing by just 91 runs, the West Indian bowlers will need to come out with better intent and look to create opportunities. Can they extract some assistance as the lacquer wears off the ball? We'll soon find out as the final session of Day 1 comes to you at 8.30 pm IST (3 pm GMT).
