There is nothing in the pitch for the bowlers. It's a batting beauty and stroke making is quite easy with the ball coming onto the bat nicely. Mumbai also have plenty of firepower in their batting and cannot be written off so easily. It's going to be a riveting chase. Do join us in a short while.
Colin Ingram praises Rishabh Pant and feels he is a heck of a talent and belted the bowlers to all parts of the park. Adds that even watching him bat in the nets is awesome. On his own performance, Ingram replies that he never used to love this format but he has worked on his game and feels it's a challenge to bat at any position. Credits the partnership between Pant and Tewatia which took them past the 200-run mark.
McClenaghan picked up 3 wickets while the rest struggled towards the end. If you look at the scorecard now, you will feel that everyone bowled badly for Mumbai. But at 114/3 in 14 overs, who would have thought Delhi will cross 200? Colin Ingram has something to say about that. Here he is, with Kevin Pietersen...
15(4) vs Cutting. 9(3) vs McClenaghan. 17(8) vs Hardik. 18(7) vs Bumrah. And 19(5) of debutant Salam - Pant vs all bowlers tonight. He was severe on everyone, not showing any partiality and even Bumrah did not get any favours!
The innings can be split into three parts - the first part which belonged to Mumbai, removing two wickets quickly. The second, which belonged to the resurgence in the form of Shikhar Dhawan and Colin Ingram. And finally the third, which was owned simply by Rishabh Pant. Dhawan bided his time, trying to stem the flow of wickets, Ingram started the counter-attack but the final punch, was delivered by Mr. Pant.
17, 18, 12, 15, 21 and 16 - the carnage in the last 6 overs - 99/3 - Uffff! What an exhibition of batting by Rishabh Pant. He was 1 off 5 when the 14th over ended. Has smashed 77 from the remaining 22 since then. Wow.
J Bumrah to R Pant, Bumrah has hurt himself here! Worrying signs! Not looking too good. Full and on middle, Pant drives it straight back and Bumrah tries to stop it in his followthrough. He seems to have hurt his shoulder in the process and goes down in pain. The physio is talking with Bumrah on his way back to the pavilion. Hopefully, he's fine. Delhi end on 213/6!
