US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has raised concerns over China's activities in the South China Sea, reaffirming strong U.S. support for the Philippines amid rising tensions near the disputed Scarborough Shoal. During a heated Senate hearing, Rubio revealed he had repeatedly raised concerns with Chinese officials and stressed that Washington remains committed to defending its key Indo-Pacific ally. The remarks come as the U.S. and Philippines deepen military, technology, and economic cooperation while Beijing expands its presence in contested waters.
