Fifteen-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continues to rewrite IPL history with a season for the ages. The Rajasthan Royals opener shattered a 14-year-old record held by Chris Gayle during the IPL 2026 Eliminator clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad in New Chandigarh.Playing in the biggest match of Rajasthan’s season, Sooryavanshi once again produced a breathtaking display of fearless batting. The teenage sensation raced to his half-century in just 16 balls and, in the process, became the batter with the most sixes ever recorded in a single IPL season. Sooryavanshi also became the youngest player ever to complete 600 runs in a single IPL season, breaking the previous record held by Rishabh Pant, who achieved the feat for Delhi Daredevils in 2018.Even more remarkably, before IPL 2026, no batter in tournament history had scored 550 or more runs in a season at a strike rate above 200.
