India vs Sri Lanka Highlights, 1st ODI: Shikhar Dhawan, Ishan Kishan star in India's seven-wicket win

Fifties from Shikhar Dhawan and Ishan Kishan were beautifully complemented by a 24-ball 43 Prithvi Shaw blitz as India registered a comfortable seven-wicket win in the first ODI against Sri Lanka in Colombo on Sunday. Chasing 263 for victory, Shaw went all guns blazing against an inexperienced Sri Lanka attack as India added 58 runs for the opening wicket in just 5.3 overs. After Shaw's dismissal, Kishan also took the bowlers to the cleaners, smashing a fifty on his debut. Dhawan, who initially played the anchor's role, shifted gears after Kishan's departure to raise his 33rd fifty. After adding 85 runs with Kishan for the second wicket, Dhawan stitched another crucial 72-run partnership with Manish Pandey to keep India's chase on course. In the process, Dhawan also became the tenth Indian batsman to score 6000 ODI runs. Dhawan and Suryakumar Yadav then ensured that India chased down the target with no further damage. Dhawan remained unbeaten on 86 while Suryakumar added 31 runs off just 20 balls. India eventually crossed the finish line with 80 balls to spare.

And, that's it from the first ODI! Shikhar Dhawan and Suryakumar take India across the finish line in the 37th over. India register a comfortable 7-wicket win to go 1-0 up in the three-match ODI series. Dhawan hits the winning runs and remains unbeaten on 86. Surya remains not out on 31. India seal the match with 80 balls to spare.

Manish Pandey gets unlucky this time! He tries to chip Dhananjaya de Silva over short mid-wicket but is just not able to clear the fielder. Another disappointment for Manish as he throws away his wicket after a good start. He walks back for 24. India 215/3 after 30.4 overs

Shikhar Dhawan sweeps the ball to perfection. Places it beautifully in the gap. On the pads from Dhananjaya de Silva and Dhawan wasted no time on that one. Gets down on one knee and sweeps it to the fine-leg fence. Dhawan moves into the 70s with that boundary.

The last few overs have been pretty good from the Sri Lanka spinners. They have kept the scoring opportunities in check and have bowled tight lengths. But India still pretty much in control at the moment. And, more importantly from India's perspective is that Shikhar Dhawan has got his eye in. He will now look to take India across the finish line.
