B Kumar to U Khawaja, Outside off, Khawaja leaves it alone. Excellent come back for Bhuvi. 4 runs and a wicket.
B Kumar to S Marsh, Marsh is off the mark straightaway. Length ball on middle and off, Marsh hits it towards mid off and gets off the mark.
Shaun Marsh is the new man in.
B Kumar to A Finch, OUT! Timber! Finch's struggle against Bhuvneshwar continues. Inswinging full ball pitching on middle, Finch looks to play it across the line but it goes straight between his bat and pad. It hits the leg pole and Finch walks back for a duck. India strike early. Not the kind of start Australia would have wanted. For the fourth time Bhuvneshwar gets the better of Finch. He struggled in the ODIs in Australia and got out to him thrice. Kumar's first match in this series and he takes Finch out in the very first over. Just when it looked like the Aussie skipper had got back in form, he fails to add to it this time.
B Kumar to U Khawaja, Khawaja is off the mark. On middle and leg, Usman flicks it to mid-wicket for a single.
B Kumar to U Khawaja, This time corrects his line and bowls it on the fifth stump line. Khawaja shoulders arms to it.
B Kumar to U Khawaja, Wide. Misses his line and bowls this one down the leg side. Wide signalled.
B Kumar to A Finch, Bhuvneshwar starts with a perfect inswinging ball on length. Finch looks to flick but misses like he has on so many previous occasion against him. There is a stifled appeal which is turned down by the umpire. The ball goes towards third man and a single is stolen.
We are back for the chase! The Australian openers, Aaron Finch and Usman Khawaja make their way out to the middle. They need to provide a good start here. The right-hander will be on strike and he will be facing Bhuvneshwar Kumar who has the first new ball in hand. Just a slip in place. Here we go...
Shikhar Dhawan is Murali Kartik's guest. He explains that he enjoyed his innings as he took calculative risk. States he respected the good balls and he stuck to the process. Admits that sometimes hardwork does not get the reward but he was never disheartened. On the conversation with Rohit Sharma, Shikhar says they were not able to convert in the last few matches so they just wanted to take their time in. Hopes that his century and partnership with Rohit can see the side home. Reckons that the pitch is good to bat but getting 350+ will be difficult and the pressure will be on Australia. On being asked his favorite shot of his innings, Dhawan smiles and says the one which he came down the track and lofted over covers.
So the target is one short of 360. The wicket is a belter but there will be scoreboard pressure on the Australians along with the thoughts of leveling the series. They will have to bat really well to get to this. Will they level the series or will the Indians seal it here itself? Join us in a while to find out. For now, Murali Kartik is with a guest.
Not a lot to write for the Aussie bowlers. It was a difficult day for them. The wicket had nothing on offer but you can say, they were poor with their lines and lengths too. Cummins did not seem at his best today but still finished with a fifer. Jhye did take three but his economy was above 9. Zampa was economical but only had a wicket to his name.
The openers laid the foundation for a big score, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan added 193 runs. The former was dismissed in the 90s but the latter went onto get a ton. Once he got to his hundred, he was smashing the ball at will. With him striking the ball so well and a lot of batting to come, India would have been eyeing the 400-run mark then. However, after his wicket no batsman could make use of the starts. Pant and Rahul both got off to starts but were dismissed at the wrong time for India. Some meaty blows though towards the end from Shankar saw them finish on 358.
Win the toss, elect to bat in an excellent batting conditions and make full use of it. That is exactly what India have done here. They have set the Aussies a massive target. They could have probably got more but they will be extremely pleased with where they are at the moment.
Pat Cummins to J Bumrah, SIX! Oh, my word. The number 11 has smoked one into the stands. Doesn't matter if you have taken five wickets, Bumrah gives room and lofts this over long on for a biggie. Virat Kohli loves it and so does Bumrah. India finish with 358/9 after 50 overs.
Jasprit Bumrah is the last man in for India.
Pat Cummins to Y Chahal, OUT! Five wickets for Pat Cummins. What an effort. Length ball over the stumps, Chahal stays inside and looks to block it with a straight bat. The ball lobs to Cummins who dives low and takes the catch. The umpire takes it up but the catch was clean as a whistle. Chahal walks back for nought.
Has Cummins got his 5th? The umpires have gone upstairs to check if the catch is clean. THE SOFT SIGNAL IS NOT OUT THIS TIME!
Pat Cummins to K Yadav, Kuldeep guides this past point to give his spin twin the strike.
Yuzvendra Chahal is the next batsman.
