Commonwealth Games 2022 Day 9 Live Updates: Putting aside the mental and physical struggles that pegged her back, an intimidating Vinesh Phogat pounced on her rivals to complete a hat-trick of CWG gold medals while Ravi Dahiya too went unchallenged as Indian wrestlers wrapped up their campaign with a rich haul of 12 medals on Saturday. Priyanka Goswami scripted history as she became the first Indian woman to win a medal in race walk with a silver in 10,000m event at the Commonwealth Games.

The Indian mixed doubles pair of Dipika Pallikal and Saurav Ghosal suffered a 0-2 loss to New Zealand's Joelle King and Paul Coll in the semifinals of the squash competition at the Commonwealth Games on Saturday. The Indian duo lost 7-11, 4-11 to King and Coll and missed out on a spot in the final of the event. Dipika and Saurav will play for the bronze medal on Sunday.

Star paddler Sharath Kamal continued his sensational run to reach the finals of both the men's and mixed doubles events and assure India of at least two more medals at the Commonwealth Games here on Saturday. Sharath first paired up with G Sathiyan to beat the Australian pair of Nicholas Lum and Minhyung Jee 3-2 (11-9, 11-8, 9-11, 12-14, 11-7) in a thrilling men's doubles semifinal clash. Sharath then combined with the young Sreeja Akula to enter the mixed doubles final with a sizzling 3-2 win over the Australian duo of Nicholas Lum and Minhyung Jee.

In matches like this, roles have to be changed. Deepti's overs in the middle were important. Rana was amazing bowling with only three fielders in the deep. That will be remembered for a long time. I was trying to remember the last-ball matches and hoped we would get over the line. We haven't done that well, so more than my fielding, I was hoping to get over the line this time. I was batting well in the last 2-3 weeks, it was like I was 2-3 years back. I'm happy to have found the touch, and hope to do it in the final too. The crowd is amazing, today England had the support. We usually have it. I'll take half an hour for things to settle in. But it's been amazing today.

India won their second medal in lawn bowls competition at the Commonwealth Games after the men's fours team settled for a silver after losing to Northern Ireland in the final on Saturday. The final score read 18-5 in favour of Northern Ireland. The Indian team comprised Sunil Bahadur (lead), Navneet Singh (second), Chandan Kumar Singh (third) and Dinesh Kumar (skip). Northern Ireland's last gold medal in lawn bowls came way back in the 1998 Commonwealth Games.

All-rounder Sneh Rana showed nerves of steel by choking runs in death overs as the Indian women's cricket team pipped hosts England by four runs to enter the final of the Commonwealth Games on Saturday. Needing 165 to win, England were cruising along at 132 for 3. The hosts required only 33 runs off 24 balls but off-spinner Rana (4-0-28-2) bowled extremely well. She gave away only 3 runs in the 18th and 9 runs in the final over. England finished at 160 for 6 and even a last-ball maximum from Sophie Ecclestone couldn't save the day for the hosts with Harmanpreet Kaur's brigade earning a sweet revenge of the 2017 ODI World Cup final defeat at the Lord's.
