NAGPUR: Devansh Ratti in the open category and Tanya Pandey in the girls group emerged triumphant in the Narhar Parkhi Memorial Nagpur District Open and Girls Chess Selection tournament which concluded here on Sunday.
Devansh and Saurabh Lokhande both captured six points each. However, on the basis of Buchholz, Devansh was adjudged champion, while Saurabh had to be satisfied with the second spot.
Top seed Shweta Gole had a forgettable tourney as she finished third.
In the girls section, overnight leader Tanya notched up maximum 5.5 points to clinch the title. R Nagalakshmi and Shalaka Balpande placed second and third respectively.
Four players each from open and girls category were selected to represent Nagpur district team in the State selection tournament which will get underway in the city on Tuesday.
