AHMEDABAD: It's not just in Gujarat that the Mehsana shuttler Tasmin Mir is stamping her authority. The 13-year-old Mir is rising in strata even at national level badminton meets too. The Mehsana shuttler Mir added another feather to her fledging career as the youngster, along with her partner Meghana Reddy, won the under-13 girls' doubles crown in All India Sub-Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament held in Gulbarga recently.

In the final, the third seed pair faced little trouble in beating the fourth seed pair of Shivani and Taneesha Singh of Uttar Pradesh 2119, 21-17. Incidentally, Tasnim and her partner from Telangana shocked the top seed pair of Shreya Chitoor and Praveena S of Tamil Nadu 21-19, 21-17 in the semi-final.
Shining in doubles'. Tasmin suffered heartbreaks in singles' category. She threw away her first game leading her to lose her girls' quarterfinal match to Shradha Hegde 21-11, 12-21, 14-21.
The young shuttler has been the brightest spot in Gujarat's badminton circuit. The girl has been winning everything on offer in the state meets. Recently in the state meet, Mir lived up to the expectations as she returned with triple crown after she claimed the U-13 title and the U-15 title. The Mehsana girl then joined hands with Yuti Gajjar to win the U-15 doubles crown to make it three trophies from the meet. More than winning titles after titles in the state meets, it the dominating ways of the girl which impresses all. The talented shuttler looks set for big things at bigger platforms.
