Mahashivratri: These bhog prasad you can offer to please Lord Shiva
Mahashivratri is one of the most revered festivals of Hindus which is celebrated across the country with great grandeur and enthusiasm. There are total 12 Shivratri occurs in a year in which Mahashivratri is one of them. Mahashivratri falls on 14th day or Chaturdashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha in Phalguna Month. This year, the festival of Mahashivratri is going to be celebrated on March 8, 2024.
It is the most magical time of the year and as per Hindu Scriptures, this is an auspicious day when Lord Shiva got married to Goddess Parvati. Mahashivratri honours Lord Shiva. It is also believed that this as the day when Lord Shiva drank the poison during churning of the ocean and he saved the world from the darkness.
Today, we are going to talk about Maha Shivratri festival and how can you please the Lord Shiva on that particular day so here's an easy way to seek blessings of Lord Shiva that is offering bhog prasad to the Lord. Let's know what dishes or sweets you can offer to Mahadev in order to seek blessings -
1. Rice Kheer - Rice kheer is favourite to Lord Shiva so devotees are advised to offer this as a bhog prasad.
2. Makhana Kheer - Devotees can cut the Makhana into small pieces and make a kheer. They can offer it to Lord Shiva and seek blessings.
3. Panjeeri - You can roast the wheat flour and put small pieces of all types of roasted dry fruits and put some sugar powder and you
4. White Khoya Barfi - White Barfi should be prepared at home and people are advised to use home made khoya and do not take it from outside. Devotees can offer it to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
5. Panchamrit - Panchamrit is made up of five ingredients milk, curd, ghee, honey and sugar powder so one must make it and take it to the temple to offer it to the Lord. Later it is distributed among family members.
6. Halwa - Soojhi halwa (semolina halwa), besan halwa (gram flour halwa) or (Wheat flour halwa) aate ka halwa also can be offered to the Lord to seek blessings of the Lord.

I could not find the significance of the Universe (Astronomically) of the Mahasivaratri Day, except one day before the New Moon & in Pices along with SUN. If anyone knows about the astronomical significance, please publish it!Read allPost comment
