Gauranga Das shares 3 things you should never do in a relationship

Gauranga Das

Modern relationships are tough to sustain and it's no surpirse then, that heartbreaks have become quite common. Talking on these lines, Spiritual leader and speaker Gauranga Das shared via his recent social media post - three things that people should never do in relationships and why. Drawing from his insights on self-respect and patterns, he warns against three traps that erode trust and dignity. Here's what they are:

2/5

Don't ignore patterns

"If they disappear every time there is conflict. If they apologise but still don't change that behaviour. That's not a phase. That's a pattern. They are not going to improve," Gauranga Das shared. And he nails it—repetitive issues aren't "one-offs." Ghosting during fights or empty sorrys signal deeper problems. Ignoring them as stress or just "bad days" blinds you to reality. Healthy love evolves; patterns persist without effort. Spot them early: track behaviors over weeks. If apologies lack action, walk away. You're not a fixer—choose partners who grow with you. Ignoring this erodes self-worth; addressing it invites genuine change or freedom.

3/5

Don't lower your standards

"You accept bare minimum replies. Cancelled plans. Half efforts. Just because you don't want to lose someone. That's you lowering your standards." Gauranga's words sting because they're true. Instead of accepting poor treatement, demand reciprocity—your heart deserves all-in, not scraps or breadcrumbs.

4/5

Don't justify wrong behaviour

"You know their behaviour is wrong, but you still justify to yourself saying they had their reasons. That's you compromising your self-respect," warns Das. Remember, justifying someone's rudeness, lies, or neglect chips away at your boundaries. Wrong is wrong—no backstory excuses toxicity. Self-respect means calling it out calmly, then acting. Journal incidents to spot gaslighting. True partners own their mistakes and work upon them.

5/5

Gauranga Das' wise words

"Ignoring red flags, lowering your standards, and justifying disrespect slowly damage your self worth. Patterns do not change without effort. Bare minimum is not love.
And excuses do not fix behavior. Protecting your standards is not ego, it is emotional maturity and self respect," Das shared in his post. His no-nonsense advice flips the script: Protect your peace first.
