Israeli officials say the strikes were part of a joint U.S.-Israel operation targeting Iranian military-linked sites, referred to as “Lion’s Roar.” Following the incident, Iraq closed its national airspace and grounded flights at Erbil International Airport. Flight tracking data also showed aircraft diverting routes as parts of the region’s airspace were cleared. The developments signal a significant escalation in ongoing Middle East tensions.
