People visit Big Bazaar for cash withdrawal
People visited the outlets of supermarket chain Big Bazaar on Thursday to withdraw cash. They said it was quite convenient than standing in queues outside bank offices and at ATM kiosks for hours. The State Bank of India (SBI) helped Big Bazaar activate this facility through the bank's cash at point of sale (POS) machines.

People can deposit the now — invalid Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denomination currency notes — in their Post Office savings accounts, the finance ministry said on Wednesday. A Post Office Savings Account offers interest of 4% per annum on individual or joint accounts. Such accounts can be opened with an amount as low as Rs 20.
Gujarat Congress plans 'rail roko' against demonetisation
The Gujarat unit of the Congress party has planned a five-day agitational programmes, including 'rail roko', in protest against the Narendra Modi government's demonetisation move and to highlight the hardship the people are facing because of it.
Telangana to suffer Rs 3,000 cr loss due to demonetisation
Telangana's revenues are likely to come down by nearly Rs 3,000 crore during the current financial year as a result of demonetisation of high value currency notes. The government on Wednesday told a central team visiting the state to study the impact of demonetisation that the state may suffer a revenue loss of Rs 540 crore every month. Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma and some top officials met the central team and submitted a detailed report on the impact of the scrapping of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes.

82,000 ATMs recalibrated: Government
Out of total 2 lakh ATMs in the country, 82,000 have already been recalibrated and people can withdraw the new Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 notes from these. According to finance ministry, the recalibration of all ATMs across the country would be completed within a few days.
