Intermediate student shot at in Purnia
An 18-year-old Intermediate student, Divyanshu Kumar, was shot in the leg by unidentified assailants on a motorcycle in Purnia district. The incident occurred as he was returning from his mathematics examination. He is undergoing treatment at a government hospital. Police are investigating the attack, with the motive and shooters yet to be identified.
Patna: Unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants shot at an 18-year-old Intermediate student while he was returning home after taking mathematics examination in Purnia district on Tuesday.Bullet hit Divyanshu Kumar, son of Manoj Kumar Singh, a resident of Sondeep Kemai village under Bhawanipur police station area, in his left leg.Divyanshu is a student of Kemei Sondeep High School in Bhawanipur and he came to his exam centre Saraswati Vidya Mandir in Baghmara to take his maths paper. The criminals attacked him on Srinagar-Baghmara Road in K Nagar police station area, roughly 500 metres away from the examination centre.After the bullet pierced his left leg, Divyanshu fell on the ground. His friends rushed him to the Govt Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where he is currently undergoing treatment.Phanishwarnath Renu Town Outpost (TOP) in charge Rajnandini, along with a police team, reached the crime spot soon after receiving the information about the incident.DSP Rajesh Kumar said despite questioning of the student and his family members, the identity of the shooters and the motive behind the attack remain unclear.He said, “The police have begun a probe and the assailants will be arrested soon.”
