Andavaada tries to be a cutesy love story with innocent and pure love forming the premise. The film has two quirky protagonists, both of who add to the sweetness of the narrative. There are some moments between the lead pair that really get those ‘awws’ out. But the problem surfaces in the second half when the film ends up seeming longer than it should have been. The film relies heavily on the two lead actors as they are the only two who are seen through most of the film. Anusha Ranganath looks stunning and does a good job as the innocent and playful Ammu. Jai, who is narrating the love story, is earnest, but doesn't match up to what is expected of him in pivotal scenes, which is where the film falters. Andavaada is sweet and charming, and is a film that works well for couples in love. But does it manage to live up to some of the landmark films that run on a story featuring just two main characters right through? Not quite. There's also a touching twist towards the climax, which doesn't make the desired impact. The film is a cute story, which could be a one-time watch, only if you are fond of this genre.
