By Susmita SameeraKendada Seragu is an intense action drama that explores the lives of sex workers and the impact the profession has on women, their families, and their children. The film focuses on how many women are pushed into this life not out of choice, but because of helplessness, manipulation, betrayal, and the lack of support around them. It highlights the harsh reality of how society often forces women into difficult situations and then denies them dignity, respect, and even basic human compassion. At the same time, the film does not remain entirely bleak. It also speaks about hope, second chances, and the possibility of rebuilding a life even after going through immense suffering. The story begins with a journalist trying to uncover a sex racket operating in the city. This leads to the entry of an IPS officer (Malashri), who arrives with a powerful action sequence and takes several women into custody. Among them is Amulya (Prathima Thakur), who is under the influence of drugs and creates trouble at the station. The officer calms her down and asks her to read a book titled Kendada Seragu. From there, the story shifts to Nethra (Shobitha M), whose life forms the emotional core of the film. Nethra is the beloved granddaughter of Lali Bai, a Lambani woman, after marrying Suresh (Mohan Kumar), a caring husband, she builds a loving home. Together, they have a daughter named Pavithra and appear to have a happy life. However, tragedy strikes when both her husband and grandmother die in a lightning accident, leaving her alone and vulnerable.Nethra is then forced into a relationship with Gowda (Yash Shetty), and eventually pushed into prostitution in order to survive. Even in such difficult circumstances, she does everything possible to keep her daughter away from the same life. As Pavithra grows older, Nethra fears that the darkness surrounding her may eventually consume her daughter as well. She encourages Pavithra to leave the village and build a different future for herself.Pavithra (Bhoomi Shetty), travels to Davangere, where she meets a fitness coach who recognizes her potential and trains her in wrestling. Her journey becomes a symbol of hope and resilience.Alongside this story, the film also follows the story of Amulya (Prathima Thakur) who is trapped by love by Sameer (Harish Arasu) and gradually pulled into a world of drugs and prostitution. Through these parallel narratives, Kendada Seragu presents the vulnerability, pain, and emotional struggle of women caught in desperate situations, while also showing their strength and determination to survive. The performances are effective throughout the film. Malashri brings authority and strength to the role of the IPS officer, Bhoomi Shetty delivers a sincere performance as Pavithra, and Shobitha M leaves an impact as Nethra. Prathima Thakur also stands out as Amulya. Supporting actors such as Sindhu Lokanath, Harish Arasu, Yash Shetty, Vardhan, Bala Rajwadi, and Mohan Kumar contribute well to the story.Technically, the film is decent, but its real strength lies in its emotional intensity and the serious subject it deals with. Kendada Seragu is a hard-hitting film that presents painful realities while ending on a hopeful note, reminding viewers that even in the darkest situations, there is still a chance for change and a better future.
