'Dulhan' from viral video who met ex-boyfriend hours before her wedding breaks silence, says, "This was against my consent..."
If you are active on social media, then you might have come across a video which went viral on Instagram recently wherein an Indian woman, who is dressed up as a bride, goes to meet her ex-boyfriend just hours before her wedding. This video showed the bride and her ex-boyfriend teary-eyed as they meet for the last time, before she marries somebody else who is chosen by her family. The video gained much attention with many viewers finding it to beheart-breaking and relatable, while some others felt sorry for the bride's to-be husband who had no clue about her past.
But behind the viral outrage was a young woman whose real life was quietly falling apart. For days, many viewers believed they were witnessing a real-life betrayal unfold in the video. Many assumed that the bride had walked out of her wedding venue to meet her ex, just hours before her pheras. This lead to many netizens trolling and questioning her character; her family too found themselves dragged into the controversy without warning. That's when Aarav shared a clarification video on December 16, 2025.He revealed that his content was inspired from real-life situations, and was scripted. However, many people felt that the clarification came too late and lacked accountability.
And now, addressing the trolls, the “Famous Dulhan Meets Her Ex" bride-- identified as Shruti Dahuja-- also took to social media recently to share her side of the story.
Breaking her silence for the first time, Shruti finally spoke up on December 19, 2025. In an emotional Instagram video, she clarified that the viral clip was not real, instead, it was scripted content. She was chosen for the bride's character at the last minute. But what's more shocking is her painful truth: That the video was uploaded without her consent.
Shruti shared that she thought the video it would be shared responsibly by content creator Aarav Mavi, with proper clarification, tagging or collaboration. But, the clip was uploaded directly, without informing her, and without making it clear that it was fictional. By the time Aarav Mavi gave a clarification, the damage had already been done. Trolls had already trolled her and her family, questioning her moral character and judging others. Shruti also expressed her frustration and pain in the comments, asking Aarav to take responsibility.
After Shruti spoke out, people's views about her started to change. Many people started speaking up in her support. Some netizens also called out the content creator for not taking her consent.
