Easy Paneer Bathua Paratha

With winter season in its full swing, the happiness of beginning the day with greens in the form of paratha is different. Try this paneer loaded bathua paratha, which is rich in fiber and protein and makes for a healthy beginning of the day. As per Ayurveda, these leaves are said to detoxify the liver and improve its function, especially when consumed in winter. They are packed with vitamins A, C, and antioxidants, which help boost immunity and fight seasonal infections. Scroll down to read the recipe.

Ingredients required


2 cups whole wheat flour, salt to taste, and water as needed, 1 cup bathua leaves, ¾ cup paneer, 1 small onion, 1–2 green chillies, 1 tsp grated ginger, ½ tsp cumin powder, ½ tsp red chilli powder, ½ tsp garam masala, salt to taste, and ghee or oil for cooking

Step 1


First of all, combine wheat flour and salt in a bowl and add water gradually and knead into a soft, smooth dough.

In another bowl, combine chopped bathua, grated paneer, onion, green chillies, ginger, cumin powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.

Step 3


Divide the dough into equal balls. Roll one ball and place 2 tbsp of filling in the centre, bring the edges together, and seal.

Step 4


Roll out medium-thick paratha and make sure it is evenly rolled.

Heat a tawa on medium flame. Cook the paratha on both sides using enough ghee or oil.

Serve hot with curd and pickle of your choice.
