Before you say 'yes' to coloured lenses, read this bridal makeup reality check MUAs rarely warn about
If you’ve ever had professional makeup done, you know that coloured lenses provided by the makeup artist come at an extra charge, instantly making your eyes look sharper and iconic. Many brides experiment with these lenses, whereas others feel pressured because MUAs nudge them, making lenses a trending and necessary makeup element.

On social media, makeup artists normalise inserting lenses into clients' eyes. Some videos are downright alarming because the process lacks hygiene: they use no gloves or tools and poke directly inside the eyes with their fingers. Just by looking at these videos, you can understand what the makeup artists are doing.
Lenses should never be inserted with bare hands; if one must, the hands should be properly sanitised. In some cases, the lenses MUAs provide are taken straight from makeup kits without sealed packaging, raising questions about whether the pair has already been used by someone else.
Brides are not given proper instructions on how to use and take care of the lenses, making the situation incredibly delicate. So, is it really worth taking the risk? With cheap coloured lenses available at nearly every store and on online websites at reasonable prices, the market goes crazy. No wonder these makeup artists are keeping these stocked in bulk.
One needs to understand the fact that lenses are medical devices that are issued by the doctor and are not just a beauty product. In a rush to complete the makeup procedure, makeup artists ignore the basic safety precautions, raising questions about the whole beauty system. So, are you ready to take the risk, or will you be opting for a medically prescribed set that requires hygiene, safety, and no outside influence?
