NEW DELHI:
Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed a petition by Pranav Choksi, son of fugitive businessman
Mehul Choksi, challenging National Spot Exchange Limited’s decision to make him a party in its suit against 50 individuals and entities for recovery of Rs 937 crore of which it was defrauded.
A bench headed by CJI Surya Kant also asked, “Where is your respected father nowadays? The whole country is eagerly waiting to give him a red-carpet welcome.”
Pranav was made a party in the 2015 suit filed by NSEL alleging that he, as one of the shareholders of the company N K Proteins, was a beneficiary of the trade executed by that company through the electronic trading platform for spot contracts in commodities.
