Two more test SARS positive
KOLKATA/MUMBAI/NEW DELHI: Two more persons have tested positive for the deadly SARS virus, taking the total number of confirmed cases in the country to nine, officials said on Monday.

A taxi-driver in Mumbai contracted the infection after coming in contact with Stanley D''Silva, the first SARS case in Pune, Maharashtra health minister Digvijay Khanvilkar said. The report of another person who accompanied the tax-driver is awaited.

In Kolkata, Radheshyam Gupta, a businessman who returned from Bangkok on April 18, has been admitted to the Infectious Diseases hospital, director of West Bengal health services Prabhakar Chatterjee said. But the other SARS patient in the city, Asitabha Purakayastha, was declared fit to be discharged.

The SARS patient admitted to the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Delhi, Bhaskar Murthy was reported to be fit. Earlier, he had been discharged from Mumbai''s Kasturba Hospital, before reports of his tests came in.
