In a case of vigilante justice, three persons were on Sunday lynched to death when they were trying to escape after fatally shooting an ex-mukhiya of a panchayat.

GAYA: In a case of vigilante justice, three persons were on Sunday lynched to death when they were trying to escape after fatally shooting an ex-mukhiya of a panchayat in Bihar's Gaya district.
DIG, Magadh range, N Hasnain Khan said locals chased the three on hearing the alarm raised by family members of Mangrawan panchayat ex-mukhiya Vijay Yadav.

The three miscreants had shot at and critically wounded Yadav, who was rushed to the Magadh Medical College-cum-Hospital where he died during treatment, he said.
The locals then blocked traffic on Gaya-Cherki road near MMCH by placing Yadav's body and protesting his killing.
Senior SP Vinay Kumar has rushed to the spot with police reinforcement to monitor the situation, he said, adding the motive behind the murder was being investigated.
