Republic Day 2025 Live Updates: Fly-past, parade, tableaux showcase cultural diversity, military prowess

President Droupadi Murmu lead the nation in celebrating the 76th Republic Day at Kartavya Path, with a special focus on the 75th anniversary of the Constitution’s enactment and the theme of 'Jan Bhagidari' (People's Participation). This year’s celebrations will showcase India’s rich cultural diversity, unity, equality, development, and military strength. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will join as the Chief Guest.Around 10,000 Special Guests from various sector attended the parade, representing the architects of a 'Swarnim Bharat' (Golden India). The parade, starting at 10:30 am, was preceded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the National War Memorial to honour fallen soldiers. The President’s Bodyguard, the oldest regiment in the Indian Army, escorted the leaders to Kartavya Path in a traditional buggy, marking a 40-year tradition revival.The parade features a 21-gun salute and musical performances by 300 cultural artists. Notably, Indonesian military contingents participated, along with India’s diverse military units, including the 61 Cavalry, the only active horsed cavalry regiment. Displayed military hardware includes T-90 tanks, BrahMos missiles, and multi-launch systems. A Tri-services tableau illustrated India's defence integration, while veterans and female officers were also honoured.The Indian Navy highlighted 'Aatmanirbhar' (self-reliant) naval strength, and the Indian Air Force will feature a fly-past with 40 aircraft. DRDO showcased cutting-edge technologies for national security, and a motorcycle display by the 'Dare Devils' will wow the crowd. The ceremony will end with the national anthem and the release of balloons symbolising 75 years of the Constitution.
