PM Modi invites Pope Francis to visit India
ROME
: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday invited Pope Francis to visit India as he called on the head of the Catholic Church at the Vatican in their first-ever one-to-one meeting.IPL 2025 mega auction
It was the first-ever one-to-one meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Pope Francis, the head of the Catholic Church.
Modi is also the first Indian Prime Minister Francis has met since becoming Pope in 2013.
The Prime Minister also met Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Vatican City State.
The first Pope to visit India was Paul IV, who visited Mumbai in 1964. Pope John Paul II visited India in February 1986 and November 1999.

PM Modi extended the invite , but I hope some sense prevails with the Pope .. if he comes during BJP rule .. BJP will trumpet saab ka sath the same Slogans and opposition will try to disturb the peace by creating nuisance by burning or throwing stones at churches to defame BJP , if he come during Opposition rule the BJP will play Italian Rome and appeasement politics and Scamgress will portray as messiah and peaceful coexistence under them .. everywhere the Christian will suffer .. we indian are never united on any topics.. only greed and hunger for power will be forefront..Read allPost comment
