PATNA: The Patna High Court on Monday sought details of all calls made from cellphones seized from jailed RJD MP Pappu Yadav and others in recent raids.
In the wake of reports of Yadav making 670 calls from Beur Jail in November - to Bihar jail minister Raghvendra Pratap Singh and several other ministers and officials - a Division Bench ordered the IG (prisons) to submit details of all such calls.
A Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Nagendra Rai and Justice S N Hussain also directed officials of three mobile companies - BSNL, Reliance Infocomm and Reliance India - to appear before it on December 15 to explain the criteria for providing connections.
IG (prisons) Deepak Kumar Singh informed the court that eight mobile phones, including that of Yadav, were seized during raids in jails across Bihar last Wednesday.
