A major uproar broke out in Parliament on Thursday after BJP MP Anurag Thakur accused an unnamed TMC MP of smoking an e-cigarette inside the Lok Sabha. Speaker Om Birla responded by assuring that appropriate action would be taken.During Question Hour, Thakur, while raising a supplementary question, asked whether e-cigarettes were permitted in the House. When Birla said they were not, Thakur alleged that a TMC MP had been “continuously smoking e-cigarettes in the House for the past several days.”Meanwhile, Congress leader and leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi repeated his allegation that Union Home Minister Amit Shah appeared “nervous” while speaking in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday during a discussion on electoral reforms.The Winter Session of Parliament began on December 1 and is scheduled to conclude on December 19.
