Its primary provisions incorporate the Indian Railway Board Act of 1905 into the Railways Act of 1989. This consolidation aims to create a more straightforward legal structure for Indian Railways by dissolving the 1905 Act whilst preserving its essential elements. These adjustments focus on improving the Railway Board's structure and organisation to enhance railway operations' effectiveness.
