‘Mock votes not cleared’, booths in Ayodhya see excess polling

Lok Sabha

elections.


“Now the VVPAT slips will be matched with the EVMs of these four polling booths,” deputy district election officer P D Gupta said.

Ayodhya district magistrate A K Jha has issued notice to the officials who had supervised polling at these four booths.

The irregularity was detected when officers matched the EVM votes with the list of polled votes and found excess polling. The ones in question are booths 31, 346 and 370 in Ayodhya constituency (voted on May 6), and

182 in Gosaiganj constituency, (voted on May 12).

“When polled votes were matched, we found excess polling in four booths. Mock votes were not

cleared

,” the deputy district election officer said.
