Indian Mujahideen's Ashraf Ali brought to Jaipur from Tamil Nadu

Ashraf Ali, a 40-year-old man who was arrested for his alleged links with Indian Mujahideen (IM) in Jodhpur, was brought to Jaipur by a flight on Saturday.

JAIPUR: Ashraf Ali, a 40-year-old man who was arrested for his alleged links with Indian Mujahideen (IM) in Jodhpur, was brought to Jaipur by a flight on Saturday. He would be interrogated in Jaipur and then taken to Jodhpur where he would be produced in a court. A senior ATS officer said that the police would try to verify the IM module's activities in the state as Ashraf played a role in induction of several members in IM's Jodhpur module.

The police had arrested Ashraf Ali, a suspect in establishing the Indian Mujahideen (IM) in Jodhpur from Tamil Nadu. Ali was produced at a local court at Chidambaram in Tamil Nadu which sent him to five-day transit remand.
"We would interrogate Ashraf and try to corroborate evidences which we have collected so far. Mohammed Saqib, the alleged member of IM's Rajasthan module, had been a close associate of Ashraf. We would try to get further intelligence over the IM module's activities in the state," an ATS officer said.
In another development, Saqib was brought to Jodhpur Central Jail for an identification parade on Saturday. He was later brought to Jaipur for further interrogation. Saqib is presently in seven-day police remand.
