Workers of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena staged a protest at a construction site in Thane, over a signboard put up in Chinese. Over 20 MNS workers gathered at a construction site in Balkum area in Thane on Friday evening. The protest was against a China-based company, which had put up a signboard in Chinese at the site, an MNS worker said.

"Prime Minister said there is no foreigner (meaning Chinese) in Indian territory. If this is true, what was the fuss about May 5-6? Why was there a fight between troops on June 16-17? Why did India lose 20 lives?" Chidambaram asked. A Chinese university has threatened to take action against an Indian student for allegedly posting offensive comments against the Chinese people on social media, the official media in Beijing reported on Saturday. The Indian national is a student at the Jiangsu University (JSU) in east China's Jiangsu Province. His offensive posts have gone viral on China's Twitter-like Sina Weibo, the Global Times reported. The university will punish him for his wrongdoing according to its regulations on overseas students after further investigation, the report quoted an official from the JSU as saying. The Indian student has since apologised, the report said.

Mitch McConnell, US Senate Majority Leader during a foreign policy speech on the floor of the House on Thursday said: "On land, for the sake of grabbing territory, the PLA appears to have instigated the most violent clash between China and India since those nations went to war in 1962." McConnell further said, "Needless to say, the rest of the world has watched with grave concern this violent exchange between two nuclear states. We are encouraging de-escalation and hoping for peace."

More than 8,000 responses were received for the question “Would you boycott buying Chinese products for next year?” and an overwhelming majority of them were ready to stop buying Chinese products. 87% of the 8,000 respondents said they were ready to boycott all Chinese made goods for the next one year. When asked if they are willing to boycott buying/using products & services of Chinese companies like Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, One Plus, Club Factory, Aliexpress, Shein, Tik Tok, WeChat etc. effective immediately, 58% of those surveyed said ‘yes, won’t buy from now’, while 39% said ‘yes, won’t buy from now but have to use what I have already purchased’.

"India's gallant defence forces shall give a fitting response to China. I urge to my brothers and sisters to demolish China economically," said Singh while speaking to the media. He said the Army will surely give China a befitting response but it is the duty of every citizen to encourage and adopt swadeshi products as guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Friday criticized the Chinese Communist Party for not only displaying its "rogue" attitude in its neighbourhood, particularly the recent escalation of border tension with India, but also for "pushing disinformation and malicious cyber campaigns so as to drive a wedge between the US and Europe." "It's the Chinese Communist Party that's forcing the choice," Pompeo said during an online conference on democracy held in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The recent clash between Chinese and Indian Army personnel at the Galwan area along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) on June 15, that led to the tragic loss of lives on both sides, have impacted the future trajectory of the broader India-China relationship and diluted the arduously worked out rules of engagement along the border, a European think tank has said. "The Chinese attack has led to China's most serious security situation with India in recent years, and flared emotions have meant that the potential for rapid escalation is rife," the Amsterdam-based European Foundation for South Asian Studies said in a report published on Friday.
