GUWAHATI: ULFA commander-in-chief Paresh Baruah has alleged that the Indian government was trying to split the ULFA organisation by spreading rumours about his health.
However, the rumours spread by the government propaganda machinery would not split the organisation, Baruah told Times News Network, adding he was very much in control of the organisation.

Baruah claimed responsibility for the series of attacks in the state - including the attack in Tinsukia district where two CISF jawans and an ULFA militant were killed and another at Kumarikata under Bijni police station in Bongaigaon district.
Baruah further said that his men had fired rocket-propelled grenades at four places in the last four days at Ghagrapaar, Tamulpur, Bongaigaon and at Nagajaan under Bordubi police station in Tinsukia district.
He also readily took credit for the recent killing of an Army officer in an operation in Darrang district.
It may be mentioned that reports originating from Delhi had expressed doubts about his health and likely differences between him and ULFA chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa, who was rumoured to have taken control over ULFA operations.
Calling from Dhaka, Baruah said that operations against security forces would continue. He added that operations against security forces had been stepped up following news of his injury.
