MUMBAI:''Fahrenheit 9/11'', a film examining the George W Bush administration in wake of the tragic events of September 11, was on Saturday cleared by the Censor Board.
"The film, which was sent to a revising committee earlier, has been cleared without a single cut", Censor Board Chairman Anupam Kher told PTI.
A film being sent to a revising committee is part of a normal procedure.
There is nothing dramatic about it. "It is only the press that chooses to react on the issue," he said.
"Why talk about only ''Fahrenheit 9/11,'' recently even a religious film ''Dharamshakti'' was sent to a revising committee," Kher said.
There are many films that are sent to a revising committee, it is part of the procedure, he said.
"However, it is wrong on the part of producers and distributors to announce the date of the release of the film without obtaining a Censor certificate," Kher said.
The film by Academy award-winning film maker Michael Moore, looks into the reasons why Bush and his inner circle avoided pursuing the Saudi connection to the September 11 terror strikes.
