Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated over Rs 7,300 crore in development projects during his first visit to Manipur since ethnic violence erupted in 2023. The Government of India has been trying to take Manipur forward in the path of development.” His visit comes amid continued opposition criticism over his absence during the prolonged ethnic clashes between the Kuki and Meitei communities, which, since May 2023, have displaced thousands and claimed hundreds of lives.
