In an editorial in its mouthpiece "Saamana", the Sena, which also saw a drop in its 2014 tally, said the mandate has rejected the notion that elections can be swept by engineering defections and splitting opposition parties. Naraingarh gets its first woman MLA as BJP loses to internal rift
Shalley Chaudhary of Congress became the first woman MLA of Naraingarh as voters made a Congress candidate win for the sixth time since 1967. In 2014, Nayab Saini of BJP had won this seat for the first time. When the seat fell vacant in 2019 after Saini became MP, he had started pushing for the nomination of his wife Suman as the BJP candidate from Naraingarh. But he was snubbed by the party high command and senior leadership in view of the party's ideology against "nepotism". Read more
