NEW DELHI: In its crackdown against secessionist elements in Manipur, ED has attached assets worth over Rs 50 crore including properties of self-styled “CM of Manipur state council” Yambem Biren and his “foreign and defence minister” Narengbam Samarjit, both being probed by multiple central agencies for their “antiIndia activities and waging war against the State”. Yambem and Narengbam had declared “independence of Manipur” from India, a case which is being investigated by the NIA. The ED probe revealed that the accused had collected huge funds from the public under Salai group of companies and Smart Society group, promising 36% return on investments.
