Delhi Elections 2025 Live Updates: No difference between PM Modi, Kejriwal; both cowards, corrupt, says Priyanka Gandhi

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs Rohit Mehraulia from Trilokpuri, Madan Lal from Kasturba Nagar, Rajesh Rishi from Janakpuri, and Bhavna Gaur from Palam have resigned from the party. The resignation came after the party decided not to give them tickets for the upcoming elections. The decision not to field these four MLAs in the elections appears to have prompted them to step down from their positions, signaling a potential shift in their political affiliations or intentions moving forward.

Meanwhile, AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal in a letter to the Election Commission on Friday, demanded a criminal case against Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini in connection with the 'poisonous' Yamuna water issue.

Kejriwal claimed that ammonia levels in the raw water supplied to Delhi from Haryana had risen to 'unprecedented and dangerously high' levels. He outlined how ammonia levels sharply increased from 3.2 ppm on 15th January to 7 ppm shortly thereafter. Despite several efforts from Delhi chief minister Atishi to resolve the issue, including direct calls to Haryana's chief minister, the problem remained unresolved, Kejriwal claimed.

In his letter, Kejriwal accused Haryana's chief minister, of deliberately orchestrating a conspiracy to influence the Delhi elections. He alleged that the high levels of ammonia were intended to create an artificial water scarcity in Delhi, which would have caused hardship for nearly 10 million people.

Kejriwal also expressed concerns over the Election Commission’s handling of the matter, accusing it of bias for not acting against Haryana's chief minister and instead targeting him. He criticised the Commission for not ordering Haryana to stop polluting Delhi's water before the elections and for focusing on him instead.

'BJP using fake car, number plate to frame AAP,' claims Sanjay Singh
Amid a controversy over a vehicle found parked near Punjab Bhavan in Delhi, AAP leader Sanjay Singh on Thursday accused the BJP of planting the car with a fake number plate. He claimed that the car was used to falsely implicate the AAP and the Punjab government, adding that a formal complaint would be filed.

Speaking to ANI, Singh said, "The BJP planted a car with a fake number plate in Delhi, loaded with AAP campaign material, cash, and liquor, and parked it outside Punjab Bhawan. The driver was absent, and the police unlocked the car quickly. Punjab Police has traced the car, its number plate, and the owner. This is an attempt to defame an Army officer and a state government through cheap politics."

Singh also questioned how a car with a fake number plate could enter Delhi unnoticed, raising concerns about security and police involvement. He pointed out that the Punjab government had confirmed that no vehicle of this model belonged to their fleet.

Delhi Police reported that the suspicious vehicle contained cash, liquor, and AAP pamphlets, prompting an investigation. The Punjab government clarified that the vehicle’s number plate was forged and linked to an ex-Army officer, Major Anubhav Shivpuri.

This protest is not against any party. Today, Delhi is in an unprecedentedly bad state. Every nook and corner of Delhi is dirty, roads are broken, and drains are overflowing. Women of Vikaspuri had written a complaint that a garbage dump has been formed on the road, and despite complaining to the MLA, no one is taking any action to get it cleaned... I have come here to participate in the cleanliness drive that the women here had organised. We will take this garbage to Arvind Kejriwal's residence and ask him what to do with this filthy gift he has given to every area of Delhi... Kejriwal is no more an Aam Aadmi now... He has no idea of the ground reality of Delhi.

AAP leaders to bring contaminated Yamuna water to BJP headquarters
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders have scheduled to visit the BJP headquarters on Thursday. According to sources, they will be carrying samples of contaminated Yamuna water from Haryana.

AAP has been alleging that the water, flowing from Haryana, contains ammonia levels of 7 parts per million (ppm), which they claim is harmful to public health.

Meanwhile, The Election Commission of India on Thursday responded to AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal to not mix issues of increased ammonia in the Yamuna River with his serious allegations of Yamuna poisoning with mass genocide, equating act of war between two nations.

The Commission has granted Kejriwal another opportunity to explain why action should not be taken for his serious allegations promoting disharmony, the enmity between different groups, overall public disorder and unrest.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has given Arvind Kejriwal, national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), another opportunity to provide evidence supporting his allegations that the Yamuna river water was deliberately poisoned.

In a response issued on Thursday, the ECI asked Kejriwal to clarify his claims, including the type, quantity, and method of poisoning, as well as the role of Delhi Jal Board engineers in detecting the contamination.

You have been indulging in forgery for the last 10 years. Personnel of Punjab Police are threatening people at Nabha House in Delhi that if they let anyone else besides the AAP campaign, they would lose their jobs. Delhi Police should visit Nabha House and find out why Punjab Police personnel are stationed there and threatening people. You are misusing Punjab Police everywhere.

BJP's Kailash Gahlot targets AAP
BJP candidate from Bijwasan Assembly constituency Kailash Gahlot said, "When AAP was formed, they had said that when they would select candidates they would take note of 3 Cs - it became famous. If a candidate has corruption charges against them, crime charges against them and the third C stod for character - so if a candidate doesn't qualify these 3 Cs, they would be denied a ticket. I say this with great sadness and shame, what kind of candidate has AAP fielded from Bijwasan (Surendar Bhardwaj) - someone who has multiple Police cases registered against him. These are not normal cases, these include cases of accepting bribes, manhandling public servant, outraging the modesty of women. Yesterday, a Police case was registered against him at Palam Police Station - forging documents and using them."

Punjab govt issues clarification after Delhi police seizes cash, liquor from car with 'Punjab sarkar' written on it
With the Delhi Assembly elections just days away, Delhi Police seized multiple liquor bottles and cash from a vehicle displaying Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) pamphlets and a ‘Punjab Sarkar’ label.

The Punjab government has since clarified that the vehicle's registration number was "forged and fake" and does not belong to any state government official.

On Wednesday night, Tilak Marg police received a tip about a suspicious vehicle with a ‘PB’ registration number parked near Punjab Bhavan. Upon inspection, officers found AAP campaign material, liquor bottles, and cash worth lakhs inside the car, officials said.

Legal proceedings have been initiated at Tilak Marg Police Station, authorities confirmed.

Reacting to the incident, BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal slammed AAP, calling it an "exposure of the party’s corrupt face" and criticizing former CM Arvind Kejriwal.

Delhi Police seizes vehicle labelled 'Punjab govt' with cash, liquor; AAP calls it 'planted stunt'
Delhi Police registered a case after a vehicle labelled "Punjab government" was on Wednesday intercepted with cash, liquor and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) pamphlets, an official said. The vehicle bearing a Punjab number plate was caught by the Flying Squad team in the New Delhi district, the official said. The Flying Squad attends to all Model Code of Conduct violations and all complaints related to liquor, arms and cash used for elections.

The Punjab government dismissed claims that it owned the car intercepted in Delhi. The vehicle's number plate was forged and fake as it can be tracked to a different car not owned by the Punjab government, it said. The AAP, too, released a statement, saying the car seizure was a "planted stunt, poorly executed and utterly bogus".

Delhi Police said officials have initiated legal proceedings in the matter, and a case is being registered at Tilak Marg police station.

Delhi LG 'bowing to political interests': CM Atishi
Delhi chief minister Atishi on Wednesday accused lieutenant governor VK Saxena of prioritising political interests over governance, following a sharp exchange over allegations by AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal.

Kejriwal had earlier claimed that the BJP-led Haryana government was "poisoning" the Yamuna and attempting "genocide" in Delhi by contaminating its water supply.

In a letter to Atishi on Tuesday, Saxena objected to what he called "false and misleading" statements by Kejriwal and her defence of them, warning that such remarks could strain relations with Haryana and pose a threat to national security.

Atishi, in her response, criticised Saxena for ignoring the serious issue of dangerously high ammonia levels in Delhi's water. "It is deeply disappointing but hardly surprising that instead of addressing the pressing issue, you have resorted to baseless accusations and a false narrative to deflect from your failure in fulfilling your responsibilities," she wrote.

The war of words erupted after Kejriwal, on Monday, accused the Haryana government of deliberately contaminating the Yamuna water supplied to Delhi, alleging a politically motivated attack on the city’s residents.
