Total number of cases rises to 6,26,872, death toll stands at 10,585.

It's important to understand that when we consider any vaccine, safety is paramount & therefore vaccine goes through various stages to make sure it's safe ,then only we come to human trials. All data is critically looked at by experts after which vaccine is approved.

Approval to Covaxin premature, could be dangerous: Shashi Tharoor
Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Sunday said that the emergency approval to Covid-19 vaccine Covaxin is premature and could be dangerous as it is still under phase 3 trial. He urged Union health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan to wait till full trials of the vaccine are completed.

Kerala has reported the maximum number of single-day recoveries with 4,985 newly recovered cases. A total of 2,110 people have recovered in Maharashtra followed by 1,963 in Chhattisgarh, it said.
