Covid-19: HC extends by 45 days interim bail of 2,961 under-trial prisoners
The Delhi High Court on Monday extended the interim bail of 2,961 undertrial prisoners by 45 days to de-congest jails during the coronavirus pandemic. The court said the interim bail of these undertrials is extended by 45 days from the date of expiry of the relief on the same terms and conditions and listed the matter for further hearing on August 4.

"During the last 24 hours, a total of 9,440 COVID-19 patients have been cured. A total of 2,37,195 patients have been cured of COVID-19 so far. The recovery rate is 55.77 per cent among COVID-19 patients," the Health Ministry tweeted. It said that the total number of recovered patients has crossed the number of active patients by 62,808. "Presently, there are 1,74,387 active COVID-19 cases and all are under active medical supervision," the Ministry said.

Delhi: Follow LG order on Covid testing scrupulously, HC tells AAP govt
A bench of Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice Prateek Jalan issued the direction while disposing of two pleas challenging the Delhi government health department's June 2 decision to exclude asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic patients from COVID 19 testing. "It is expected of the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) that the LG's direction of June 8 shall be followed scrupulously," the bench said. The LG by his June 8 order had directed that testing strategy recommended by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) be followed, said a report, filed through Delhi government additional standing counsel Satyakam.

27,446 arrested for violation of lockdown norms in Maharashtra
"As many as 1,33,730 offences have been registered under 188 of IPC since the lockdown leading to 27,446 arrests and seizure of 83,970 vehicles," home minister Anil Deshmukh tweeted. A total of Rs 8,41,32,461 has been collected in fines from offenders, he added. The Maharashtra Government has extended COVID-19 lockdown till June 30 and has also issued directives to ease restrictions under the exercise termed as 'Mission Begin Again.'

Maharashtra police report 55 new Covid-19 cases, tally at 4,103
"In the last 24 hours, 55 policemen in Maharashtra were found corona positive. So far, 48 policemen have died due to coronavirus in Maharashtra. The number of coronavirus positive policemen in Maharashtra has reached 4,103, including 1,016 active cases," Maharashtra Police said on Monday. 3,039 policemen have recovered from the illness and returned to their homes, police said.
