patna: a case is yet to be registered in connection with wednesday's killing of nine rjd workers in an ambush in bihar even as district officials faced a trying time assuaging angry ruling party supporters to allow lifting the bodies for postmortem and cremation. officials at sheikhpura police station confirmed that a case was yet to be registered. the fir may be lodged after senior police officials return to the police station after postmortem and cremation, they said.
sheikhpura rjd chief kashi yadav was among the nine rjd activists killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire on them near tatipul when they were returning to sheikhpura from barbigha. others killed included sheikhpura district board member anil mahto, panchayat samiti member umashanker prasad and a mukhiya abodh prasad. the killing had sparked protests by rjd supporters who at first refused to allow the bodies to be lifted by police. sheikhpura authorities had to face a tough time to pacify the rjd men, who at last allowed them to take the bodies on thursday morning for postmortem and cremation.
