Origin of the protests

The protests began after allegations of a question paper leak during the BPSC Preliminary Exam on 13 December 2024. Students accused authorities of mismanagement, including missing question paper bundles and lack of proper security measures. The government’s dismissal of these claims led to widespread dissatisfaction, sparking demonstrations across Bihar.

Pappy Yadav's call for re-examination

Pappu Yadav called for an investigation into the lathicharge, as well as the removal of cases filed against students.
