NEW DELHI: After a gap of six years, former PM and NDA parliamentary group chairperson Atal Bihari Vajpayee came to Keshav Kunj, the RSS office at Jhandelwalan on Monday, to meet the top RSS brass.

<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">NEW DELHI: After a gap of six years, former PM and NDA parliamentary group chairperson Atal Bihari Vajpayee came to Keshav Kunj, the RSS office at Jhandelwalan on Monday, to meet the top RSS brass. (He had been to Keshav Kunj just once two years ago to pay his last respects to senior RSS leader Chamanlal when the latter died.)<br /><br />Vajpayee was accompanied by Opposition leader L K Advani, party functionaries and <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">pracharaks</span> Sanjay Joshi and Bal Apte.

The significance of BJP''s still-reigning duo visiting the RSS office together was a re-emphasising of their belief in the Hindutva ideology and their core roles as <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">swayamsewaks</span>.<br /><br />While Vajpayee''s visit was symbolic of the changed equations with the Parivar after the defeat, RSS sources discounted this aspect saying that, as PM, it was difficult for him to come there. Instead, they said, "It underlined the fact that BJP and RSS are thinking along the same lines, the need to consolidate and project our ideology."</div> </div>
