CHANDIGARH: The Delimitation Commission of India on Tuesday put on hold the exercise of delimitation in three states - Haryana, Bihar and Jharkhand - going to the polls in the coming months, paving the way for the holding of elections on the basis of existing constituencies.

CHANDIGARH: The Delimitation Commission of India on Tuesday put on hold the exercise of delimitation in three states - Haryana, Bihar and Jharkhand - going to the polls in the coming months, paving the way for the holding of elections on the basis of existing constituencies.
The decision taken in a meeting of the commission in New Delhi, held to hear the 10 associate members from Haryana, may have opened the path for the creation of the 20th district of Haryana, christened Satya-mev Puram, which had been put on hold by the commission on the plea that it would create complications.

Chairman of the commission Justice Kuldip Singh said the decision had been taken after hearing the views of EC and MLAs and MPs from Haryana.
