Is giving pocket money to kids a good idea?

Pocket money is a good way to teach children about financial management. However, it is important that the dole is given wisely and monitored well. Despite their busy schedules, parents should keep track of how their children are spending the money. Any irresponsible or unnecessary expenditure should be strongly discouraged. Meeting their every demand can set a dangerous precedent.

Children should be given a certain amount for pocket money, as this will create an opportunity to teach them about having to make choices, spending thoughtfully by understanding the basic needs, waiting for things that they want and saving. Its absolutely right to give children the pocket money. It explains them about the concept of money. How to use the given amount in a well way. It is like inculcating maturity of finance in children. But it should also be monitored by the parents about how their child is spending the money.

Indeed it is a good idea.......it teaches them many lessons ranging from the art of saving to utilizing them in their best needs...it also teaches them that they should not waste it.........
