Harbhajan Singh-Geeta Basra Wedding: Pictures you should not miss

Harbhajan Singh, seems really happy and excited about the new inning of his life. At a media interaction post wedding, Harbhajan got down on his knees for Geeta Basra in Shah Rukh Khan's iconic pose. Geeta and Harbhajan both looked happy and said they were excited for this new phase of life.

Almost the entire Indian cricket industry was present at Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra's wedding. The couple tied the knot in a traditional ceremony in Jalandhar. Sachin also attended the wedding in traditional attire alongwith wife. Mukesh and Neeta Ambani's son, Akash also attended the wedding.

Harbhajan Singh's ancestral home in Jalandhar has been dolled up for the wedding. Geeta Basra and Harbhajan tied the knot after a long fairytale romance. Though Geeta's friends and Harbhajan's cricketer friends were aware of this, the couple never spoke about it openly in public. As per a report, Harbhajan's friends used to call Geeta as 'bhabhiji' ever since they got to know her.

Geeta and Harbhajan's wedding ceremony was spread over five days. After a private mehendi ceremony, the couple arranged a grand sangeet ceremony where Mika and legendary singer Gurdas Maan also performed. Geeta's look for the wedding has been designed by Archana Kochhar.

Harbhajan Singh shared this picture from the 'ghada gharauli' ceremony on Instagram. This is a very important ritual in Punjabi families. The groom carries a matka with water to the bride's home as shagun. Harbhajan wore a classic light blue sherwani and paired it up with dark green turban.

Harbhajan Singh has tied the knot with Bollywood actress, Geeta Basra, in a gurudwara wedding in Jalandhar. The wedding ceremony was kept private with only a few people in attendance at the event. Their wedding can definitely be called a big fat Punjabi wedding. With the who's who of the cricket and entertainment industry attending the event and the wedding festivities spread over five days, it is definitely turning out to be the biggest wedding of the season.

After sporting a dark green and gold embroidered lehenga for her sangeet ceremony, Geeta chose to go subtle and classic in this orange lehenga and kurti. Geeta wore this outfit for the chooda ceremony, which is an important pre-wedding custom in Punjabi families. Well-known designer, Archana Kocchar has designed Geeta's wedding attire keeping in mind her choices and preferences. In the picture, Geeta can be seen having an emotional moment.

Spinner Harbhajan Singh and actress Geeta Basra exchanged rings on October 27 in a grand ceremony. The ring ceremony was organised at club Cabana and was attended by Geeta and Harbhajan's close friends and family members. Cricketers like RP Singh and Parthiv Patel also attended the ceremony and were seen enjoying themselves. Geeta Basra and Harbhajan had been dating for almost five years but never spoke about their relationship openly.

Both Geeta and Harbhajan were particular about the kind of clothes they would wear at their wedding and also the colour. Geeta wanted a traditional look for all the ceremonies and did not want to wear anything too shiny or glitzy and Harbhajan wanted to keep it classic and simple. Harbhajan and Geeta's wedding outfits have been designed by well-known designer, Archana Kochhar. The couple looks happy together in this photo.

Designer Archana Kochhar, who has had a number of sessions with Geeta Basra to design her wedding outfits, took to Twitter to share this picture of the bride. Archana tweeted, "Revealing the first bridal look of the future Mrs.Harbhajan Singh @harbhajan_singh @Geeta_Basra #archanakochhar." Geeta looks lovely in this traditional wedding outfit.

Harbhajan Singh also posted a picture on his Facebook page before leaving from home for the wedding. He wrote, "And the day has arrived.. All set" Well, in this off-white, self-on-self embroidered sherwani with an ornate red sword, Harbhajan definitely looked all set for the wedding. His family members were seen giving him sweets, cash and coconut for shagun. The bright red turban gave Harbhajan the typical 'dulha' look.

A desi touch was added to Harbhajan- Geeta's sangeet ceremony by bringing in this rickshaw. Our cricketer turned rickshaw puller for his ladylove as the couple posed for shutterbugs. The rickshaw has been decorated with marigolds and roses. Harbhajan shared the picture on Instagram and wrote, "What a sangeet night! enjoyed it with family and friends!thank you gurdasmaan nd MikaSingh for making it special."

Legendary singer, Gurdaas Mann had been invited to perform at Harbhajan's sangeet ceremony. He sang many popular Bollywood numbers at the sangeet ceremony. Harbhajan and Geeta alongwith the other guests danced to their tunes. Mika tweeted, "Bro @harbhajan_singh &dear @Geeta_Basra Wishing u both a happy married life. Also met the living legend @gurdasmaan."

For the mehendi ceremony, Geeta had opted for a lovely shade of lime yellow and pink. The mathapatti and jhumkas accentuated her bridal look. Geeta sported very minimal make up and yet looked radiant. Bhajji kept it simple on the sangeet ceremony and sported a t- shirt and jeans. Geeta and Harbhajan's close friends attended the mehendi ceremony.

Amidst tight security, Harbhajan Singh left for the wedding venue from home. As per Punjabi rituals, a little boy can also be seen accompanying him, dressed as the groom. Also, Harbhajan's family had accompanied him to the venue. Harbhajan's family looks happy in the picture.
