Samsung launched Galaxy S24 Ultra alongside Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+

Samsung finally unwrapped the Galaxy S24 Ultra at the Galaxy Unpacked event in San Jose, California. The latest smartphone, which also happens to be the most expensive new smartphone from the company in 2024 comes with a range of improvements, changes and updates. It also boasts the new Galaxy AI features.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra goes Titanium and it’s a first

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is the first smartphone from the company to feature a Titanium build. The new material makes the phone look premium and robust compared to the previous generations.

Galaxy AI is the key highlight of the phone

Samsung has introduced a suite of AI features that are clubbed under the umbrella of “Galaxy AI”. Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra takes all the benefits of it by offering features like generative texts in Samsung Keyboard, Summarise-feature in Android Auto, Transcript, Live Phone call translation, AI-powered photo and video editing features and more.

Same size display, but it’s flat

Samsung Galaxy S Ultra phones have come with a curved display. However, that has changed with the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The phone now features the same 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, but it is a flat display panel with slimmer bezels on all sides, including the chin.

Features the brightest display in the entire Galaxy smartphone lineup

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra comes with 2600 nits of peak brightness which is around 850 nits more than the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The display is backed by an improved Vision Booster technology for better outdoor visibility. Also, the panel supports a 1Hz to 120Hz Adaptive refresh rate.

Available in 1TB storage variant

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra comes in three storage options. The base variant comes with 256GB and the top of the line variant features 1TB storage.

Runs on the flagship chipset for Android phones, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform for Galaxy chipset. This is expected to offer better performance, improved thermals and battery life.

Comes with a quad rear camera setup, and there’s a new 5x telephoto sensor on the block

Samsung has replaced the previous 10x telephoto sensor with a new 50MP 5x telephoto sensor. The other sensors remain unchanged which includes a 200MP wide camera with OIS, a 10MP 3x telephoto camera with OIS and a 12MP Ultrawide camera. At the front, there’s the dual-pixel 12MP sensor.

Features a new image processing engine

Galaxy S24 series comes with ProVisual Engine, a comprehensive suite of AI-powered tools that transform image capturing abilities of the phones. Galaxy S24 Ultra also comes with Quad Tele System and Adaptive Pixel technology that enables zoom levels starting from 2x to 10x.

Offers versatile zoom options, the Space Zoom is also there

Samsung has made some changes to the zoom options available on S24 Ultra. The phone offers 2x, 3x, 5x and 10x zoom levels by default allowing users a wide range of zoom options. Also, the space zoom feature is still there.

Samsung has also updated the ISP to offer faster and more reliable image processing to reduce blurs and retain details even in low light conditions.

Samsung has included a wide range of AI-powered image and video editing features. This includes object eraser, reflection eraser, AI suggestions, generative editing and more.

Comes with an instant slow-motion video recording feature

The entire Galaxy S24 series now captures more frames in the video allowing users to turn any video into slow motion from within the Gallery app.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra comes with a 5000mAh battery and it supports 45W fast charging along with 15W fast wireless charging and Wireless PoweShare.​​

Samsung has launched the Galaxy S24 Ultra in four colour options --Titanium Gray, Titanium Black, Titanium Violet and Titanium Yellow.
